Applications for Summer 2026 open Dec. 1st !

The Algonquin Campership Fund awards funds to individuals and groups to attend traditional canoe tripping camps in Algonquin Park, Ontario, Canada. Applications are housed under the Rochester Area Community Foundation Scholarships portal. We accept applications on a rolling basis December 1 - April 20. Award decisions are announced in March and May based on the date your complete application is received. In extreme circumstances, applications may be considered after April 20.

INDIVIDUAL CAMPERS

Are you between the ages of 7 and 18 and planning to attend a traditional canoe-tripping summer camp in Algonquin Park, ON? You may be eligible for financial assistance to cover up to 100% of your camp tuition! Currently, this opportunity is only available to U.S. residents.

To apply, simply create a portal login to get started. The application process includes:

A personal statement written by the camper
Two references
Questions about your family's financial situation

You’ll need to create your account under the CAMPER NAME. Have your camp tuition statement handy during the application process.

SCHOOL GROUPS

We offer financial assistance to help school groups of 15-150 students enjoy an unforgettable experience at a participating camp!

This opportunity is open to schools and other outdoor focused group leaders based in the United States. Priority given to New York based groups.

To apply, create a portal login and complete the group application. You’ll need to provide:

Basic details about your group
Demographic information for participants
Financial information to help us assess your group’s needs

You'll to create your account under your GROUP NAME. Make sure to have your group roster and any relevant financial documents handy as you fill out the application.

ENRICHMENT PROGRAMS

We provide funding to support initiatives that inspire and educate!

Applications are open to Algonquin Park-based camps. Eligible funding requests include:

Safety certifications for staff (e.g., WFR, WFA, WRT)
Professional development or educational experiences for camp staff
